This picture displays a wonderful sense of abstraction. The spiral leads your eye into the picture, and at first you can't really seem to make out what the image consists of. I love the composition of this piece, and how the shell is positioned for the perfect view.

Nick Lagos.

The picture is a great display of abstract photography. The drop of liquid looks like an eye with eyelashes because of the ants gathering around it in a pattern. This makes the picture more interesting. I love the way the photographer turned something so simple into something incredibly beautiful.

Linda E. Jones

I love this display of abstract photography. This is a close up shot of a flower, but it is made to almost look like a rose window from buildings of the Gothic age in Europe. I think this picture is absolutely beautiful and the photographer chose a great composition and focus point.

Perspective.

 

Milgaros De La Torre

This photograph is very simple, yet displays a great sense of perspective. I enjoy how the knives are shooting up at an angle from the left side of the picture. The angle of the camera for this photograph also gives off a sense of perspective, and also the depth of field that is used which is beautiful as well.

Julio Bittencourt

The pictures of the windows all placed together, and them all having the same viewpoint makes a great picture for perspective. I like how the pictures of the different windows are all from the same level, and you are directly looking at the window, and the figure in the windows. The people in the windows definitely add to the emotion the photographer was trying to portray, and i love the subtle attributes to this piece.

This picture is simplistic, but holds a dramatic quality. That all has to do with the perspective that the photograph was taken from. I love how the camera is positioned below her instead of at direct eye level to have a dramatic effect with the perspective.                 

Light and shadow.

Gregory Crewdson. 

I absolutely love the way that Gregory Crewdson displays light and shadow, especially with this photograph. I love the way he manipulates artificial lighting, and makes it look just like natural lighting, as if it was coming from the sun. The artificial light looks soft and delicate, but makes deep, rich, shadows. The way that the light and shadows are displayed in his photograph mirror the emotion he is trying to portray.

Alex Stoddard.

Alex Stoddard has a wonderful understanding of light and shadow. The light he uses is almost always natural lighting, and always gives off a very emotional feel to it. I love his sense of lighting, especially in this photograph because the light is filtering in from the window and giving off a very dramatic emotion. I love the way he uses light and shadow to display different aspects of human emotions, and I definitely find it to be extremely beautiful. 

Anna Szczekutowicz

Anna uses almost always natural lighting as well. She takes a lot of outdoor self portraits, and they display a very beautiful depiction of light and shadow. She uses the light and shadow to mirror different feelings to portray a message to the viewer. In this photograph I absolutely love the use of the sunset to outline her body as she's moving because the sunset is my favorite time of day and I find it incredible.
